Odin Technologies is looking for an experienced Access Control & Video Surveillance Technician to join our field team based out of Sewell, New Jersey .

IMPORTANT

This position requires regular travel to job sites outside of New Jersey. Travel is a required part of this position and is non-negotiable. Our technicians work throughout New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, with a significant amount of our current work located in Maryland. Applicants must be willing and able to travel regularly, including overnight paid travel when required. This is a hands-on technician position and is not an entry-level role. We're looking for someone with professional experience installing, servicing, and troubleshooting commercial access control and IP video surveillance systems. What You'll Do Install, service, troubleshoot, and commission commercial access control systems Work with access control panels, controllers, card readers, electric strikes, magnetic locks, request-to-exit devices, door contacts, power supplies, and related door hardware Install and configure IP cameras, NVRs, video management systems, and supporting network equipment Pull, label, terminate, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling Diagnose hardware, software, wiring, and network-related issues Assist with system programming, testing, commissioning, and customer walkthroughs Read and interpret construction drawings, risers, wiring diagrams, and project scopes Coordinate professionally with project managers, customers, general contractors, and other trades Complete required project documentation, service reports, punch-list items, and system testing Provide customer and end-user training when required Maintain Odin Technologies' quality, safety, and workmanship standards What We're Looking For At least 2 years of professional access control and/or IP video surveillance experience Hands-on experience installing and servicing commercial access control and video surveillance systems Knowledge of low-voltage wiring, terminations, structured cabling, and basic door hardware Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, wiring, and network environments Experience with platforms such as Lenel, Genetec, Hanwha, Axis, HID, Mercury, Openpath/Avigilon, Milestone, or similar systems Familiarity with network switches, VLANs, PoE, and IP addressing Ability to read construction drawings, risers, wiring diagrams, and system schematics Ability to work independently and as part of a field team Professional communication and customer-service skills Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record Ability to work from ladders and lifts and in active commercial environments Ability to lift and carry the tools, materials, and equipment required for the position Ability to pass required background checks and customer or site clearances Must be willing and able to travel regularly throughout NJ, MD, PA, and DE, including overnight travel as required Manufacturer certifications such as Lenel, Genetec, Hanwha, Axis, Avigilon, or similar are a plus. Schedule & Travel This is a full-time, primarily Monday-Friday field position with approximately 40 hours per week . Start and end times vary by project, with typical schedules such as 7:00 AM-3:00 PM or 8:00 AM-4:00 PM . Regular travel is an essential requirement of this position. While Odin Technologies is based in New Jersey, our projects are located throughout NJ, MD, PA, and DE, with Maryland currently being one of our primary work areas. Technicians should expect to travel wherever their assigned projects are located. This may include multi-day projects and overnight stays. Candidates who are not willing to travel regularly outside of New Jersey should not apply for this position. Odin Technologies provides hotel accommodations and a travel meal allowance/per diem for required overnight travel. Overtime is available and may be required based on project needs.

Pay & Benefits Pay:

$25.00-$35.00 per hour , based on experience, certifications, technical ability, and ability to work independently. The top of the range is reserved for highly experienced technicians with strong programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities.
