Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Overhead Door Technician with extensive experience to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining overhead doors, garage doors, and related hardware across various construction sites and commercial properties. Your mechanical expertise and hands-on skills will ensure that each project is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Duties Install, repair, and troubleshoot overhead doors, garage doors, and associated hardware using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and building codes to ensure precise installation and compliance with safety standards. Perform glass installation, door hanging, fixture installation, cabinet installation, and metal stud framing as needed on construction sites. Conduct mechanical repairs on door operators, springs, cables, rollers, locks, and other components to ensure optimal operation. Lift heavy materials safely while adhering to proper lifting techniques; operate lifts for elevated installations. Interpret technical schematics and schematics for electrical systems or mechanical components to facilitate accurate repairs or installations. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about project status and maintenance needs. Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and inspections conducted to ensure quality control and accountability. Qualifications Proven experience in overhead door installation and repair within a construction or commercial environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques. Knowledge of building code compliance related to door installation and electrical systems. Construction site experience and familarity with safety protocals. Familiarity with electrical work such as wiring door operators or sensors; ability to interpret schematics is essential. Ability to lift heavy loads safely; physically fit with the stamina to work on ladders or scaffolding for extended periods. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately. Customer service orientation with strong communication skills; able to explain technical issues clearly to clients. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred; willingness to travel between job sites as needed.
