Position Summary The Commercial Maintenance & Projects Technician will be responsible for helping maintain our commercial properties while also supporting construction-related work across multiple sites. This role is ideal for someone with solid maintenance experience, good field judgment, and the ability to jump between service work, repairs, punch items, and light project work. The right person is a problem-solver, communicates well, works independently, and is comfortable in a fast-moving environment. What You'll Do Perform general maintenance and repair work across commercial properties Respond to maintenance requests and resolve issues in a timely, professional manner Troubleshoot and perform basic to intermediate repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, doors, hardware, drywall, paint, and carpentry Complete preventative maintenance tasks and property inspections Assist with turnovers, renovations, tenant improvements, punch lists, and small construction projects Help identify maintenance issues, deferred maintenance items, and construction deficiencies before they become bigger problems Coordinate with outside vendors and subcontractors when specialized work is needed Pick up materials, keep tools and work areas organized, and help keep projects moving Document work performed with notes, photos, and updates to management Participate in on-call or after-hours response as needed What We're Looking For 3-5+ years of experience in commercial maintenance, construction, service trades, or a related field Strong working knowledge of general building maintenance systems Hands-on experience with repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC basics, drywall, paint, doors/hardware, and carpentry Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks across different sites Good judgment on what can be handled in-house versus when a licensed trade should be called Professional communication and a strong sense of accountability Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to lift, carry, climb ladders, and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions Preferred Qualifications Commercial property experience Experience supporting renovation, tenant improvement, or construction projects EPA certification, OSHA training, or trade-related certifications Ability to read punch lists, scopes of work, and basic plans Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus What Success Looks Like Problems get handled quickly and correctly Properties stay in good condition and tenants are taken care of Small projects move forward without constant follow-up You communicate clearly, take initiative, and make life easier for the team You show up, work hard, and take pride in doing things right Compensation Pay ranges from $24.00 to $35.00 per hour , depending on experience, skill set, and ability to work independently across both maintenance and construction-related tasks.
