Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Maintains the grounds, facility and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures and as may be directed by your supervisor to assure that a successful maintenance program is maintained at all times. Position Designation The position of Maintenance Tech/Biomed is identified as "department safety-sensitive". Department safety-sensitive positions mean employment positions, which may in the normal course of business: Require the employee to operate the company vehicles or heavy equipment, or Includes duties, which, if performed with inattentiveness, errors in judgment, or diminished coordination, dexterity, or composure, may result in mistakes that could present a real and/or imminent threat to the personal health and safety of the employee, co-worker, and/or the public. Delegation of Authority As a Maintenance Tech/Biomed, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.TASK LETTER CODE PRIMARY DUTIES

Performs routine maintenance and repair of the facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc. in accordance with established policies and procedures. B Services heating and cooling units/systems, as specified by the manufacturer, in compliance with established policies and procedures. C Follows preventative maintenance schedules and prioritizes repair and maintenance work to minimize disruption of hospital operations. D Performs daily inspections of mechanical rooms throughout the hospital to ensure proper operation of heat, air conditioning and ventilation, and medical support equipment. E Replaces burned out light bulbs, to include exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, exterior lighting and others F Maintains departmental reports and records and collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes as required and/or requested. G Inspects, tests, cleans and monitors fire equipment, alarms, switches and sensors, and requests repairs/replacement as necessary. H Performs routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc. by cutting, trimming, policing, sweeping, removing snow, etc. as necessary/directed I Maintain the general plant and facility in good repair, ensuring a safe, clean and orderly environment. J Assists with maintenance of storage sheds; and may assist various departments with transfer of records or equipment to storage. K May assist Fleet Maintenance with facility vehicle maintenance, repairs, etc. L Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when performing maintenance service. M Monitors and inspects work to ensure compliance with codes and regulations. N Assure that the facility and its equipment is properly maintained for patient comfort, Safety and convenience. O Assure the work areas are clean and equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored before leaving such areas on breaks, end of workday, etc. p Participates in rotation of stand-by call and responds according to department policies and procedures. Q Maintains confidentiality of all patient/resident/staff information. R Performs other related duties as requested or assigned. S Performs ESI testing on all equipment on an annual basis per maintenance connection PM schedule. T Performs Biomed preventive maintenance on equipment needed per manufacturer guidelines U Performs routine maintenance of ice machines and refrigerators and freezers.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM EDUCATION
