Facilities & Maintenance Technician Position Summary:
We're seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep our warehouse and manufacturing facility running safely and efficiently. This role handles day-to-day repairs and preventive maintenance on facility infrastructure and equipment, supports safety and compliance efforts, and works closely with other departments and outside vendors as needed. The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical/electrical troubleshooting experience and a strong safety mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Operations Perform hands-on repairs and troubleshooting on facility infrastructure (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting) and production/material-handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, Panel saws, etc.) Execute preventive maintenance schedules on equipment and facility assets to reduce downtime and extend asset life. Respond to and resolve maintenance work orders and reactive/emergency repair requests in a timely manner. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and equipment malfunctions using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, and spare parts inventory. Coordinate with outside vendors (HVAC, electrical, specialized repairs) for work beyond in-house capability. Support general facility upkeep, including warehouse floor organization, restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas. Safety & Compliance Follow and help enforce safety protocols, including PPE use and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during equipment maintenance. Conduct routine safety inspections of the facility and equipment, flagging hazards or OSHA compliance issues. Report incidents, accidents, and near-misses promptly and accurately. Support company safety training by demonstrating proper equipment use and safe work practices to staff. Address and correct hazards or unsafe conditions promptly within scope of role. Assist with maintaining facility access/security systems as needed. Administrative & Strategic Support Communicate parts, supplies, and equipment needs to management as they arise. Provide input on maintenance priorities and recommend improvements to reduce downtime or repair costs. Keep maintenance logs and repair data organized and available for review. Assist with facility improvement projects (equipment installs, layout changes, upgrades to infrastructure) as directed.
Qualifications:
1+ years of experience in industrial, warehouse, or facility maintenance, or a related trade. Hands-on experience with hand and power tools, and basic mechanical/electrical troubleshooting. Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and general safety regulations (OSHA). Ability to manage and prioritize multiple repair requests independently. Good communication skills for coordinating with staff, management, and vendors. Basic computer skills for logging work orders and maintenance records.
Preferred Qualifications:
Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain). Trade certifications (electrical, HVAC/EPA 608, welding, or similar) is a plus. Experience with CMMS or work order management software. Familiarity with 5S or similar workplace organization methods. Experience performing preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
Working Conditions:
On-site, full-time role in a warehouse/manufacturing environment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in non-climate-controlled areas. Requires standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
PPE required:
safety glasses and hearing protection.
Schedule:
First shift, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
