We are seeking a dedicated Shop and Facilities Technician to join our growing team! This position plays a key role in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe shop environment while ensuring our technicians have access to the tools and resources they need. The Shop Technician is also responsible for facility maintenance, vendor coordination, and providing backup support to the Parts Department as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shop and stockroom. Safely handle shipping and receiving duties using a powered industrial truck. Conduct regular facility audits and ensure a safe, healthy work environment. Support Field Service Technicians with parts deliveries, oil and coolant replenishment, and used oil disposal in compliance with regulations. Assist technicians on jobs as needed. Coordinate with external vendors for building maintenance, housekeeping, and waste management. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility and grounds. Assist the Parts Department with orders, inventory management, and parts lookups. Support emergency response efforts within and outside company territories as needed. Cross-train to provide backup support for the Parts Coordinator position as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 1-2 years of related experience; equivalent combinations of education and experience considered. Valid driver's license with the ability to obtain DOT medical certification. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (as required by local regulations). Forklift certification (or ability to obtain). Strong integrity, urgency, and results-driven approach to work. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts. Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and environments. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with computers; Microsoft Office experience is a plus. Mechanical inclination preferred; knowledge of diesel and gas engines is beneficial. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
