A Building and General Maintenance Technician performs building maintenance and appliance repairs for an apartment complex, housing division, residential center or business, as directed by a property manager.
1st General Laborer Consultants is seeking a skilled and motivated Tradesman/Handyman to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a versatile professional with experience in moving services, cleaning, carpentry, flooring, roofing, junk removal, and hauling. You will perform hands-on work across multiple service areas while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:
Perform professional moving and relocation services, including loading, unloading, packing, and assembly/disassembly of furniture and fixtures. Deliver residential and commercial cleaning services, including deep cleaning, post-construction cleaning, and move-in/move-out cleanings. Handle carpentry projects, such as framing, repairs, installations, and finishing work. Execute roofing and flooring repairs or installations as assigned. Conduct junk removal and hauling tasks safely and efficiently, ensuring proper disposal of materials. Troubleshoot and complete general maintenance and repair requests. Provide excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism and punctuality. Participate in mandatory virtual training and testing sessions to enhance technical skills and safety practices. Meet the required minimum number of jobs per month as assigned by management. Maintain a clean, organized work environment and company equipment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a handyman, tradesman, or in a related field (moving, cleaning, or carpentry preferred) Proficiency in one or more of the following: roofing, flooring, carpentry, junk removal, and hauling. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Excellent time management and communication skills. Must be comfortable using virtual platforms for training and assessments. Reliable transportation and basic tools preferred. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks. Positive attitude, self-motivated, and committed to continuous improvement. Prior to interviewing, 1st General Laborer Consultants would prefer candidates to prove any prior experience in the field for which you are applying such as pictures/videos or through testing. 1st General Laborer Consultants requires the candidate to provide a government issued ID and proof of current physical address (i.e. mail, ID etc.) after interviewing.
