Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Production/Maintenance Mechanic for a direct hire opportunity in Lancaster, NY. This 2nd shift Maintenance Technician role is ideal for a hands-on manufacturing professional who enjoys troubleshooting production equipment, keeping operations running smoothly, and reducing downtime in a fast-paced plant environment. - Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment, including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and automated systems.
- Diagnose issues with PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, valves, cylinders, drives, and related production machinery components.
- Perform preventive maintenance, equipment cleaning, machine changeovers, tooling replacements, and startup and shutdown procedures.
- Read and interpret manuals, blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and equipment documentation to complete repairs accurately.
- Support facility operations, including generator power changeovers, rigging, machinery relocation, spill response, snow removal, and ERP inventory transactions.
- Follow all safety procedures while helping minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability. Compensation and Benefits

$55,000 to $75,000 annually, based on experience.Schedule:

ASAP. Required Qualifications and Skills- Maintain and repair automated production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery, electrical sensors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and mechanical components.
- Perform preventive maintenance, machine changeovers, equipment startup, shutdown, and production support activities.
- Use technical drawings, schematics, measuring tools, and powered hand tools to complete accurate equipment repairs.
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year technical school with at least 2 years of experience repairing PLC-controlled equipment, or High School Diploma/GED with at least 6 years of experience repairing PLC-controlled equipment.
- 3 to 5 years of manufacturing industry experience.
- Knowledge of pneumatics, ladder logic, basic electrical systems, and PLC operation.
- Forklift certification required.
- Scissor lift certification required.
- Ability to operate metalworking equipment and measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, problem-solving skills, and attention to safety.
- Ability to work independently, respond to production needs, and provide maintenance coverage during production overtime as needed. Preferred Qualifications
- Welding experience.
- General machinery repair experience.
- Fabrication experience.
