2nd Shift Senior Maintenance Mechanic Lockport, NY | $25-$35/hour | Full-Time EliteStaffing is recruiting a skilled Senior Maintenance Mechanic for a manufacturing facility in Lockport. This is a hands-on 2nd-shift position for someone who is comfortable being a key maintenance resource when production equipment goes down. This role is primarily mechanical, not a controls-only position. We're looking for someone who understands how manufacturing equipment works, can identify the source of a problem, and can make the necessary repairs without needing constant direction.

What You'll Work On:

You'll support production and facility equipment throughout the plant, with work that may include: Finding the cause of mechanical equipment failures and getting machinery back into operation Repairing and replacing bearings, shafts, belts, chains, gearboxes, motors, and other drive components Working with pneumatic equipment such as cylinders, valves, fittings, and air systems Troubleshooting electric and servo-driven machinery Completing scheduled preventive maintenance and responding to unplanned breakdowns Inspecting machinery for wear or developing problems before they result in downtime Assisting with equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades Handling general plant and facility maintenance involving compressors, plumbing, HVAC, and related systems Using hand tools, power tools, meters, and other maintenance diagnostic equipment Documenting repairs and completed maintenance work Following LOTO and plant safety procedures As a senior member of the 2nd-shift maintenance team, you'll also be expected to help troubleshoot more difficult equipment problems and provide guidance when less-experienced technicians need assistance.

What We're Looking For:

The strongest candidates will have several years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment. You should be comfortable working with: Mechanical power transmission and drive components Bearings, gearboxes, shafts, belts, chains, and motors Pneumatic systems Production machinery and automated equipment Preventive and corrective maintenance Mechanical troubleshooting and equipment repair Basic facility and plant systems We're particularly interested in technicians who can look at a machine problem, work through the possible causes, and determine the repair rather than simply replacing parts based on instructions. Experience in any of the following areas would be valuable but isn't required: Industrial electrical troubleshooting PLC or controls exposure Servo systems Machining Welding or fabrication Equipment installation Compressors, HVAC, or plumbing Training or mentoring other maintenance technicians Previous lead or senior maintenance responsibilities A high school diploma or GED is required. Technical or trade-school education in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, electrical technology, or a related field is a plus. Candidates should be able to perform the physical requirements of an industrial maintenance environment, including safely lifting up to 50 pounds.
