Job Description

Maintenance Technician for hire. Please apply in person to Tru by Hilton, 41 Dunning Rd., Middletown, NY or forward resume as indicated. This position requires you to check guests in and out of the hotel, ensure proper room and miscellaneous postings, secure credit, answer questions, answer telephones, provide maximum levels of guest service and support the hotel's rooms division in any way required to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
Your responsibilities will be:
  • Respond, as directed, promptly and professionally to work order requests both during business hours and after hours.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs in the areas of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, sheetrock, exterior structural, safety and appliances.
  • Maintain all records of installation and maintenance performed on equipment in all rooms and public spaces for maintenance and warranty purposes.
  • Performs inspection and reports discrepancies.
  • Coordinating with local health, safety, fire, and building inspectors to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
  • Maintains the property curb appeal and general cleanliness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Job Type:
Full-time Experience and Qualifications:
  • Prefer a minimum 1 year of previous experience in property management maintenance, other building maintenance or related trade is required.
  • HVAC, plumbing, drywall, electrical, and appliance experience.
  • Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, along with a "customer service" attitude.
  • Must maintain professional appearance and comply with prescribed uniform policy.
Physical Demands:
  • Requires ability to stand/walk entire shift.
  • Requires ability to perform light to medium physical labor which includes lifting, bending, reach, stretching, climbing (ladders), pushing, and pulling.
  • Requires ability to communicate orally and in writing with maintenance/hotel staff/guests.
  • Requires ability to lift 50+ lbs frequently,
Walking and Standing:
Most of the time
  • Must be able to carry 50 lbs. up to 25 feet.
Lifting, Push/Pull:
90%
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. regularly.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. to the waist, chest, and above the head.
  • Ability to push housekeeping or laundry cart regularly.
Bending, Stooping, Reaching:
90% (throughout the entire shift).
  • Must be able to bend at the knees with up to 50 lbs.

$16.00 - $20.00 per hour
