Job Summary First Step Staffing is hiring an Industrial Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Mechanic for the 5:00 PM-4:00 AM night shift at a fast-paced food processing, food production, and manufacturing facility in Oswego, NY. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical maintenance, machine repair, equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance, automotive repair, facilities maintenance, or manufacturing maintenance who wants to develop their skills and grow in an industrial environment. Job Duties Perform preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, machine repair, equipment repair, and routine inspections on production machinery, packaging equipment, conveyors, motors, pumps, bearings, and other manufacturing equipment. Diagnose mechanical and basic electrical equipment problems, replace worn or damaged parts, make machine adjustments, and assist with equipment breakdowns, production downtime, machinery troubleshooting, and emergency repairs . Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, mechanical tools, and maintenance equipment to maintain and repair industrial machinery and production equipment. Assist with maintenance and repairs involving motors, conveyors, pumps, bearings, belts, chains, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical components, automated equipment, packaging machinery, and mechanical systems based on experience and training. Follow established preventive maintenance schedules, lockout/tagout (LOTO), OSHA, GMP, food safety, workplace safety, equipment safety, and manufacturing maintenance procedures . Requirements Must be available to work the PM/night/overnight shift from 5:00 PM-4:00 AM . Previous hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, mechanical repair, machine maintenance, equipment repair, facilities maintenance, automotive repair, production maintenance, or a related mechanical field . Basic knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, machinery repair, equipment inspection, and mechanical systems . Comfortable working around industrial equipment, production machinery, conveyors, motors, pumps, packaging equipment, automated machinery, and manufacturing equipment . Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, mechanical tools, and maintenance equipment . Experience with electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, welding, fabrication, bearings, motors, pumps, conveyors, packaging equipment, automation, or food manufacturing equipment is helpful but not required .
