Maintenance Mechanic - Power Generation Oswego, NY | Contract If you're a skilled industrial mechanic who's tired of being treated like just another set of hands…keep reading. Per Sé Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join the maintenance team at a power generation facility in Oswego, NY. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who knows industrial equipment, takes pride in quality work, and wants to be part of an experienced plant maintenance team. If pumps, motors, valves, rigging, rotating equipment, cutting and fitting, and preventive/corrective maintenance are already part of your world, we should talk.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM; overtime as needed
Duration:
Anticipated through year-end, subject to plant staffing needs What You'll Do Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, and equipment installations throughout the facility. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment. Install, remove, repair, and replace pumps, motors, valves, piping components, and related equipment. Troubleshoot day-to-day mechanical and equipment issues. Disassemble, remove, install, and reassemble industrial equipment. Perform basic cutting, grinding, fitting, and material preparation. Perform basic welding as appropriate; welding certification is not required. Perform rigging associated with moving, positioning, removing, and installing equipment. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and mechanical maintenance equipment. Support outage maintenance, fuel deliveries, and other plant activities as needed. Work closely with plant maintenance personnel while following established safety procedures. What You'll Bring Approximately 3-5+ years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience , with 5+ years preferred. Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude and industrial equipment maintenance experience. Experience working with pumps, motors, valves, and other rotating or stationary equipment . Basic rigging experience. Ability to perform cutting, grinding, fitting, and related mechanical work safely. Strong safety awareness and commitment to established plant procedures. Dependability and the ability to adapt to changing maintenance priorities. Previous experience in power generation, steel mills, paper mills, refineries, manufacturing facilities, or other heavy-industrial environments is highly valued. Experience with boilers, steam turbines/turbine-generators, welding, or industrial snow-removal equipment is a plus, but not required.
