The ideal candidate will have experience in various techniques and a strong understanding of fabrication and installation processes. You will work closely with other tradespeople on construction sites, contributing to projects that require precision and attention to detail. Duties We are looking for a person that has experience with making/installing awnings and canopies. We also occasionally do banners. Cutting and sewing of fabric to be used on awnings. Painting and heat transferring graphics on to fabric. Application of fabric to awning with drills/staples. Use of power tools such as drills and hammer drills to install awnings on buildings. We perform some welding tasks using MIG, or stick welding techniques to fabricate metal components. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the appropriate welding processes. Collaborate with team members on construction site. Utilize power tools and equipment safely and effectively for cutting, grinding, and finishing metal surfaces. Conduct inspections of welded joints to ensure compliance with quality standards. Apply caulking techniques for sealing joints and gaps in metal structures. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Requirements Experience with awnings is a plus. Experience with fabrication processes and the ability to build metal structures from scratch. Familiarity with construction site operations and safety regulations. Knowledge of electrical systems as they relate to welding applications is a plus. Strong skills in using power tools effectively for various tasks related to welding and construction. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
