Recreational facility seeks handyman with strong carpentry and plumbing skills as well as basic skills in other trades such as painting, landscaping, mechanics to join its year-round team. Ability to do building renovations - framing, dry wall, finishing work and bathrooms required. General repairs and maintenance. Basic Responsibilities:

Perform variety of woodworking duties, including but not limited to rough carpentry, finish carpentry, installation and repair of hardware, flooring, windows, roofs, etc. Perform plumbing tasks, including but not limited to, winterizing water systems - city and wells and buildings, installing new toilets and sinks, installing tiles, dealing with clogs. Responsible for the upkeep of all tools and maintain all company owned equipment assigned to the employee. Maintain a safe and clean working environment daily. A minimum of seven years of experience in all phases of carpentry and plumbing. Academic or school is a plus, however it is not a substitute for experience. Ability to communicate effectively in English, including understanding, speaking, reading and writing. Good interpersonal skills. Able to lift, move, position, place and transport objects up to 75 pounds. Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. Able to perform repeated bending, squatting, stooping, pushing and pulling. Able to ascend and descend ladders. Able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions. Applicants need their own transportation, be punctual, presentable and respectful toward fellow workers and toward our clients. Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Sept to May. Overtime hours required in June, July and August. Must be able to show work history, provide 3 references from past employers. All candidates will be subject to a background check (including license & driving record) as well as checks against the New York State and National Sex Offender registries.

Pay:

$27.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
