Job Description

LOOKING FOR EXPERIENCED
ONLY, We are a busy established sign company in Port Jefferson Station. Can NOT be afraid of heights.
MUST HAVE CLEAN DRIVERS LICENSE, HAVE THERE OWN VEHICLE AND BE ON TIME.
Normal hours 8:15-5:00 Monday -Friday. Normally overtime available. MUST be able to start early (at times 4-5am) so would need to be flexible to arrive at work early and
ON TIME. PLEASE DO NOT CALL IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A CLEAN DRIVERS LICENSE AND CAN NOT BE ON TIME DAILY!
WILL
BE ASKED TO PROVIDE DRIVERS RECORD ABSTRACT FROM DMV.
Work would entail conducting surveys, installing and servicing exterior signs, interior signs and inside the shop work etc with overtime
EXPERIENCE WITH
Applying vinyl Work on channel letters Fabricating box cabinets Servicing existing signs and diagnosing the problem Work independently Read shop drawings Operate bucket trucks Must have own tools Have a positive attitude Excellent pay for qualified workers, Vacation time / Sick Time Must be able to be flexible and be able to work overtime when needed. Duties Design, cut, assemble, and finish custom signs using a variety of materials such as vinyl, wood, metal, and acrylic. Operate sign-making equipment including plotters, printers, and hand tools to create professional signage. Measure and mark installation sites accurately to ensure proper placement of signs. Install signs securely on walls, poles, or other structures following safety standards and client specifications. Use electrical testing tools such as an ohmmeter to verify wiring connections for illuminated or electronic signs. Conduct site inspections before installation to assess conditions and plan the best approach for mounting. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are stored properly after use. Requirements Proven experience in sign making or related trades is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and sign-making equipment safely and efficiently. Strong attention to detail with excellent measurement and precision skills. Physical stamina to stand, lift heavy materials, climb ladders, and work outdoors in various weather conditions. Familiarity with electrical components and the use of an ohmmeter for testing wiring connections is a plus. Good communication skills to understand client needs and collaborate with team members effectively. Valid driver's license
