We are a true local operator with one focal point; Resident Service. We are a dynamic organization constantly focused on the enrichment of our operations. We currently have 45 apartment and townhome communities under management, located in: Baldwinsville, Batavia, Camillus, Canandaigua, Fairmount, Farmington, Fulton, Gates, Greece, Henrietta, Hilton, Honeoye Falls, Irondequoit, Liverpool, Lockport, North Syracuse, Oswego, Palmyra, Phoenix, Rochester, Rome, Seneca Falls, Syracuse, Tonawanda, and Utica. Thank you for your interest in Barrington Residential! Barrington Residential is seeking a qualified, high-energy, reliable Capital Projects Technician to support our staff. New hires will be included for the entire cap x project from mobilization to completion, by providing the knowledge, skill and experience to run day-to-day operations on the job site. This includes field coordination, working closely with the Subcontractors to ensure that quality and workmanship meets Barrington standards. The Superintendent will ensure that the work is carried out safely, correctly, within budget and on schedule. As a Capital Projects Technician , your primary responsibilities include:
  • Being directly responsible for organizing, supervising, scheduling & planning of multiple commercial properties to maximize cost efficiency and motivate employees to complete each project assigned on time and under budget.
  • Work as part of a team to perform preventative maintenance and corrective repaid of buildings, mechanical systems, equipment, and grounds.
  • Review assigned work orders. Estimate the time and materials needed to complete the repair. Order necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.
  • Monitor building system operations and performance.
  • Support tenants by providing excellent customer service through effective communication, professional interactions, and timely resolution of required maintenance repairs.
  • Capital projects involve, plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, landscaping, and the overall cleanliness of Barrington properties.
  • Ensure the workplace meets safety standards and adheres to health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in safety training as required.
  • Document work orders and repair history including dates/times and vendor details.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with clean record
  • Reliable transportation
  • 2 years of direct professional experience with carpentry
  • Ability to be flexible in work assignments and daily tasks
  • Ability to perform work with attention to detail and extreme accuracy
Physical Qualifications:
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and operate equipment necessary to perform cleaning/maintenance duties.
  • Extended periods of standing, walking, and sitting while driving to locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in use of equipment such as scaffolding, powered lifts, and snow plowing
  • Vinyl siding and metal bending experience
  • Licenses/Certifications in one or more of the following applicable to the role: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, painting, plumbing, or carpentry.
