Job Description

Northville Industries is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician with experience in oil pipeline or oil terminal operations and maintenance.
Role Summary:
The Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing equipment on the oil pipeline and terminal facilities, including pumps, valves, tanks, and associated instrumentation. Technicians perform routine operations and maintenance on equipment at pipelines, pump stations, tanks, and truck loading terminals. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include:
  • Equipment Maintenance. Performing overall troubleshooting, maintenance support and calibration for pipeline and terminal facilities at our Port Jefferson, Setauket, and Holtsville facilities as well as the interconnecting pipeline.
  • Facility Oversight.
Perform daily inspections to ensure all mechanical equipment is operating properly. Participate in predictive maintained techniques such as vibration analysis to properly plan and prioritize maintenance activities. Compliance. Performing and recording regulatory and Company policy preventative maintenance inspections and procedures as identified in the Procedures Manual and as directed by supervisor. The oil pipeline is regulated under 49 CFR 195.
  • Right of Way. Locating pipeline facilities and ROW locations utilizing electronic line locators and drawings. Inspect and repair cathodic stations along ROW.
  • Continuous Education. Maintaining a high level of knowledge relating to new and current technology and equipment.
  • Policy Implementation. Implementing company policies, standards, drawings, diagrams and construction specifications for the maintenance and repair of Northville's facilities.
  • Documentation. Maintaining equipment records and furnishing documentation per Company Operations and Maintenance Manual and computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • And other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
  • Two-year associate's degree in a technical field (electrical, electronic, or mechanical) OR the equivalent combination of education/work experience required.
  • Experience in pipeline, terminal or plant operations and maintenance preferred.
  • Experience installing or troubleshooting PLC's(Allen Bradley) and truck loading rack controls (Accuload) preferred
  • Experience in measurement and calibration of petroleum preferred.
Certificates & Licenses:
  • Valid driver's license
Other Skills, Attributes and Abilities:
  • Must have the ability to navigate basic computer systems (i.e. Windows).
  • Knowledge of SCADA applications and MS Office applications is a plus.
  • In order to be successful in this position, the individual must possess good communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • The individual must have good analytical skills and good technical aptitude.
Physical & Safety Requirements:
  • The individual must be willing and able to perform the physical labor required to complete the responsibilities of this position which include but are not limited to using related tools and work equipment, climbing stairs and ladders ranging 5-50 feet in height, raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able and willing to work outside in extreme weather conditions.
  • The individual must meet medical criteria established by DOT, including random drug testing.
Pay:
From $45.00 per hour
