Job Description
Maintenance Mechanic (West Seneca, Buffalo)
Manufacturing Assembly Line / Assembler New York Permanent / Full Time 25/8/2026 Sherwood Electromotion Inc. (SEI) is a Service and Solution provider for Rail, Mass Transit, Oil and Mining Industry and Wind Power Generator Industries. We have been in business for over 45 years. We are looking for employees willing to grow with us, looking for long-term permanent positions and interested in professional development. This role involves performing a variety of repairs and maintenance (predictive and preventive and regular) on all our plant equipment while troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Familiar with Health and Safety codes, regulations and procedures.
- Responsible for assembling, installing, aligning, maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, inspecting, dismantling of machinery and equipment.
- Familiar with rigging, hoisting and fitting practices.
- Servicing of prime motors, PLC, programmable controller, shaft, couplings, seals, chains, belt drive. systems, gear systems, pneumatic and vacuum systems, and lubrication and cooling systems.
- Familiar with the Canadian Electrical Code, CSA/ASTM/ANSI codes.
- Capable of reading mechanical, electrical and machine drawings and understanding the requirements of manufacturer's maintenance manuals.
- Familiar with the preparation and implementation of maintenance work schedules.
- Knowledge of the following:
- Programming/Troubleshooting of PLC and programmable controllers.
- AC and DC drives and motor, generators control systems.
- Hands on repair, calibration of pneumatics and hydraulic experience.
- Knowledge of Arc welding and brazing.
- Forklift certification.
- Usage of equipment and hand tools.
- Usage of precision tools.
- Regular up keep of equipment.
- Familiar with relevant market products and equipment
- Understanding of Safety and
ISO 9001
2000 Quality Management System requirements.- Perform related duties as assigned.
