Description:

Line Maintenance Technician The Line Maintenance Technician serves as the first line of maintenance support on the production floor, performing basic mechanical repairs, changeovers, and troubleshooting on manufacturing machinery and equipment. This role focuses on keeping production lines running smoothly by identifying and resolving issues, conducting quality checks after changeovers, and collaborating closely with maintenance, production, engineering, and quality teams. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on work with tools and fixtures, and clear communication across multiple departments. Responsibilities Work on the production floor to troubleshoot machinery and equipment issues in real time. Serve as the first line of maintenance by performing basic maintenance tasks before involving the maintenance team. Complete small mechanical repairs directly at the machines to minimize downtime. Make necessary adjustments to machinery to ensure optimal performance and product quality. Test equipment functionality and verify sensor operation, including checking and adjusting sensor locations. Perform frequent mechanical repairs using hand tools and power tools, including extensive wrenching. Carry out tooling repairs and assemble or complete tooling fixtures as required. Perform daily changeovers on machinery, including a scheduled changeover at 10:00 a.m., and verify that machines run properly afterward. Conduct quality checks on the first parts produced after each changeover to ensure setup accuracy and product conformity. Remain flexible and open to performing a wide variety of tasks, which may include changeovers, small repairs, assembling racking, and repairing dies depending on daily needs. Collaborate as a team player and respond positively to work assignments from supervisors and coworkers. Handle very minimal electrical tasks related to changing low-voltage sensors and adjusting sensor locations, without requiring advanced electrical skills. Use a variety of hand tools and power tools for mechanical repairs and adjustments. Read and interpret blueprints as needed to perform setups, repairs, and adjustments correctly. Communicate effectively with multiple departments, including maintenance, production, engineering, and quality, to coordinate work and resolve issues. Document work performed and complete daily reports using a computer to maintain accurate records of maintenance and changeovers. Support a safe work environment by following safety procedures and guidelines while working around machinery and manufacturing equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bluffton, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.70 - $24.30/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
