The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of facility equipment, machinery, and building systems. This role ensures equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and supports a safe, efficient working environment. Key Responsibilities Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) on building, forklifts, dock equipment, HVAC, and other facility systems.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and general equipment issues using strong troubleshooting skills.
Perform welding and cutting for repairs, fabrication, and equipment modifications.
Perform maintenance and repairs on forklifts with various power systems, including electric, propane/LPG, and other fuel types.
Maintain and repair specialized shop equipment, including pin presses, tire presses, and pneumatic tire mounting equipment.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production/operational downtime.
Maintain accurate records through the job ticketing system, including work performed, parts used, and time to completion.
Follow and help manage a scheduled preventive maintenance program for building and operations equipment.
Perform basic building repairs as needed.
Inspect facility for safety hazards and code compliance; report and correct as necessaryIdentify equipment requiring specialized outside repair and assist with coordinating vendor service when necessary.
Support installation of new equipment and layout changes.
Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Collaborate with operations and CI teams on equipment improvement initiatives.
