Shift Multi-Craft Industrial Maintenance Technician Shift:
2nd shift, starting at 1:30 p.m.
Pay:
$30 to $40+ per hour, negotiable based on experience
Employment Type:
Full-time, hourly, non-exempt Achilles is recruiting an experienced Multi-Craft Industrial Maintenance Technician for a heavy manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working across both electrical and mechanical systems and takes pride in keeping critical equipment operating safely and reliably. The right candidate will bring strong troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to step in wherever maintenance support is needed. If you enjoy diagnosing problems, preventing downtime, and working closely with production teams, this could be a strong fit. What You'll Do Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, mechanical equipment, fixtures, and related systems using hand and power tools Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems, equipment, apparatus, and components using appropriate test equipment Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, and needed adjustments or repairs Test circuits, wiring, equipment, and fixtures using ohmmeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and other testing tools Troubleshoot mechanical equipment and verify proper operation Help ensure safety systems, machine guarding, handrails, and related protections are in place and functional Perform preventive maintenance on pollution-control devices and other plant equipment Maintain pollution-control devices according to manufacturer specifications Support equipment reliability and downtime-prevention efforts Communicate with employees across different levels of the organization to help achieve departmental goals Collaborate with the manufacturing team to support production conformity Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned What We're Looking For Knowledge of industrial manufacturing machinery and tools, including their design, operation, maintenance, and repair Familiarity with the materials, methods, and tools used to complete industrial equipment repairs Strong mechanical aptitude The ability and willingness to learn, jump in, and support the team High school diploma or GED Preferred Qualifications Journeyman certificate or equivalent experience OSHA Arc Flash training Previous heavy manufacturing experience Work Environment and Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on maintenance position in a heavy manufacturing environment.
Candidates should be prepared to:
Handle, install, position, and move equipment and materials Perform work that involves climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and using the arms and legs for extended periods Work in indoor and outdoor conditions during all seasons and across varying temperatures See details at close and distant ranges, distinguish colors, and use depth perception Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds This description is not intended to include every responsibility, qualification, or physical requirement associated with the position.
