Job Description

Machine Maintenance Technician Repairs, maintains and improves machines and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties. Must have a variety of personal hand tools.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Performs major and minor electrical repairs. Performs start-up procedures and troubleshoots electrical and mechanical equipment. Perform assigned preventative maintenance procedures on equipment, as assigned. Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and clean parts. Starts devices to test their performance. Sets up and operates, lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines. Repairs electrical equipment. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with one to three years directly related manufacturing maintenance experience is required. A maintenance apprenticeship certification is preferred with additional technical schooling.
Pay:
$25.10 - $28.00 per hour
