Full-Time Position Overview American Friction is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to oversee the mechanical, electrical, and automated systems of our manufacturing plant. This role ensures maximum uptime of specialized sintering, molding, and robotic production lines. Troubleshoot advanced automation systems—including legacy PLCs, modern collaborative robotics, and vision systems—while also maintaining high-pressure industrial machinery and general facility infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Industrial Equipment Maintenance Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on but not limited to hydraulic molding presses , coining presses, industrial grinders and all other production related equipment. Maintain and troubleshoot high-temperature sintering furnaces , heating elements, and thermal control loops. Service and repair industrial air compressors , pneumatic lines, and ventilation systems. Automation, Robotics & Vision Systems Troubleshoot and diagnose automated production lines using GE Fanuc , Allen-Bradley , and Mitsubishi PLCs . Perform diagnostic checks, review PLC logic for troubleshooting, and resolving communication errors. Maintain and support Universal Robots (UR) collaborative cells, managing joint calibrations, path teaching, and error faults. Support, clean, and recalibrate Cognex vision systems used for part inspection and robotic guidance. Facilities & Grounds Care Maintain plant infrastructure, including basic plumbing, building electrical, lighting, and HVAC upkeep. Oversee external grounds maintenance, ensuring safety and cleanliness of walkways and loading docks.
Qualifications Experience:
5+ years in industrial maintenance within an automated manufacturing environment and or industrial hydraulic pressing facility
PLC Skills:
Proficient in navigating and troubleshooting GE Fanuc , Allen-Bradley , and Mitsubishi control systems.
Proven capability repairing hydraulic/pneumatic presses and high-temperature industrial ovens.
Electrical skill:
Knowledgeable and proficient in working with 480v 3 phase down to 24vdc
Prints:
Must be able to read electrical schematics and hydraulic prints.
Education:
