Job Description:
The role of the general maintenance involves carrying out various duties, tasks, and responsibilities to ensure machines and equipment don't develop faults when in operation. Candidate will have experience in maintenance and competent troubleshooting skills in power transmission, electrical, hydraulics and pneumatics. Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and/or in a cross-functional work team environment. Individual must possess strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
Role Expectations:
The following job responsibilities are expected to be performed satisfactorily with supervision in a training status:
Specific Duties:
  • Ensure that safety standards are maintained while performing duties
  • Perform minor to moderate repairs on Facilities, equipment, safety repairs/improvements, facility fans, housekeeping, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and fix minor wiring (120vac), repair leaky pipes, and service heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units (e.g., swapping air filters).
  • Conduct scheduled inspections of safety systems (e.g., fire alarms, emergency lighting) and mechanical equipment to prevent major breakdowns.
  • Submit reports on work activities and progress of work to the supervisor
  • Identify root cause of equipment failures and suggest preventive actions
  • Identify and order machine components and materials required to complete any given job
  • Accurately estimate time required to complete any given job
  • Interface with our computerized maintenance management system to retrieve work orders, manage part inventory, and record closing information
  • Trash pick-up and disposal
  • Floor cleaning including operation of rider floor sweeper and scrubber
  • Clean up spills as needed
  • Collection and disposal of waste oil and water
  • Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of dust collection equipment
  • Participate in 5S/TPM improvements
  • Handle interior and exterior painting, drywall patching, and basic groundskeeping or snow removal.
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, work on ladders and lifts
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime as needed
  • Minimum 0-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with Proven hands-on experience with general repairs, often learned through on-the-job training, apprenticeships, or vocational programs.
  • a strong working knowledge of mechanical power transmission, hydraulics and pneumatics, lubrication practices and other PDM practices
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in using standard hand tools, power tools, testing devices, welding and sheet metal repairs.
  • Must possess strong communication skills, analytical abilities, and the ability to multi-task
Problem-Solving:
The ability to diagnose problems quickly and determine when a repair requires a licensed specialist (e.g., certified electrician or plumber). Preferred Qualifications
