In person About the Role Hilzinger America Corp, part of a globally established manufacturing group with over 120 years of engineering heritage, is looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic / Machine Set-Up Technician to join our Medina, OH production team. In this role, you'll be the go-to expert for keeping our production equipment running at its best — setting up machines, performing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues. You'll work hands-on every day, directly impacting product quality and plant efficiency. For the right candidate, this position offers a clear path to grow into a Working Lead / Foreman role, taking on shift coordination and mentoring responsibilities as you settle in — but your primary focus from day one is hands-on maintenance and machine set-up, not supervision. Competitive pay : $25-$35/hour based on experience Full benefits from day one eligibility : Health, Dental, and Vision insurance Paid Time Off Career growth path : real opportunity to advance into a Lead/Foreman role as you prove yourself Stable, international company : backed by an established manufacturing group with a 120+ year track record Hands-on, varied work : no two days are the same — mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems all in one role Clean, organized shop environment with a focus on safety and 5S practices What You'll Do Machine Set-Up & Maintenance (primary focus) Set up and adjust production machines and equipment for different product runs and changeovers Perform preventive maintenance to keep equipment reliable and minimize downtime Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to get production back up and running Inspect machinery before, during, and after production runs Support equipment installation, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects Keep accurate maintenance records and service logs Team Support & Growth Track Assist with coordinating daily workflow and providing guidance to production staff as needed Help train and mentor team members on proper machine operation Support enforcement of safety standards and 5S housekeeping practices Opportunity to grow into shift coordination and team leadership responsibilities over time Quality & Continuous Improvement Help ensure products meet quality specifications Identify and suggest opportunities to improve machine uptime and production efficiency Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives What You'll Bring High school diploma or Technical/Vocational certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Technology (Associate degree a plus) 2+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience , including machine setup Solid troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and machine drawings Team leadership or mentoring experience is a plus, but not required Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, maintenance/production reporting systems) Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is a bonus
