Summary of Duties:
Able to perform a wide range of repairs and maintenance of mechanical equipment such as pneumatic tools, motors, conveyor systems and production machines and equipment using testing instruments, hand and power tools and precision-measuring instruments. Electrical installation, repair and maintenance of all machines, equipment and structures in and around the plant. Troubleshoots electrical malfunctions and tests electrical equipment for safety and efficiency. Diagnosing problems and suggesting corrective action to supervisor. Follows a strict preventive maintenance schedule to lessen exposure to downtime related repairs and maintenance. Maintains orderly spare parts areas and records. Other tasks as assigned.
Basic Requirements:
Basic blueprint reading, equipment manuals, and electrical schematics. High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience. 4+ years of manufacturing experience; hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, welding, and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC. Experience with relay logic and PLC programming. General skill and/or trade that applies to industrial maintenance. Ability to progress in a reasonable amount of time to ensure production requirements. Fill out required forms. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with other departments. Must be a positive role model in regard to following and encouraging others to follow safe work practices Must be willing to work overtime as required. Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 60+ lbs., on a regular basis. Knowledge of shop mathematics, fractions, decimals and tolerances. Ability to inspect parts with measuring equipment.
