Alt Learning Centers is looking for a dependable, experienced, and hands-on Facilities & Maintenance Technician to help keep our three childcare centers safe, clean, attractive, and well-maintained. This is an excellent opportunity for a retired or semi-retired person, handyman, tradesperson, maintenance professional, or someone who simply enjoys fixing and improving things. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and can see something that needs attention and take care of it. Schedule Flexible part-time schedule. Most work can be scheduled during evenings and weekends , but the person in this position will need to have some flexibility to respond to an occasional maintenance issue during the day. The number of hours may vary depending on the needs of our three centers and current projects. Responsibilities
- General maintenance and handyman repairs
- Touch up walls, doors, trim, and other painted surfaces
- Painting and minor drywall repairs
- Replace ceiling tiles, light bulbs, hardware, etc.
- Repair doors, cabinets, furniture, fixtures, and other minor building issues
- Keep playgrounds neat, clean, and well-maintained
- Perform minor playground and fencing repairs when appropriate
- Landscaping, trimming, weeding, and seasonal cleanup
- Help maintain the appearance of the buildings and grounds
- Identify maintenance issues and address them before they become larger problems
- Help with furniture, equipment, and supply moves
- Assist with seasonal projects and general property upkeep
- Respond to occasional daytime maintenance needs
- Work at all three locations What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous maintenance, construction, handyman, facilities, or related experience
- Be comfortable using common tools
- Have experience with painting and general repairs
- Be comfortable doing basic landscaping and outdoor work
- Be dependable and trustworthy
- Be able to work independently
- Take pride in keeping properties looking their best
- Have good attention to detail
- Have reliable transportation
- Have a valid driver's license
