Job Description

Job Overview Maintenance Technician - Job Summary Responsible for maintaining the community healthcare center's buildings, grounds, equipment, and general facility operations. Performs routine repairs, preventive maintenance, basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks; maintains a safe, clean, and functional environment; responds to maintenance requests; and assists with facility inspections and other maintenance needs as assigned. Some housekeeping will also be required in this position. Responsibilities Maintenance Technician - Key Responsibilities Perform routine and preventive maintenance on buildings, equipment, and facility systems. Complete basic repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and address safety or facility concerns. Maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and safe condition of buildings, grounds, and common areas. Conduct routine inspections and identify needed repairs or potential safety hazards. Assist with setup, moving, and arrangement of furniture, equipment, and supplies for facility needs. Maintain maintenance records, monitor supplies, and coordinate with outside vendors or contractors when needed. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance or related fields with knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical work, plumbing, HVAC system repair, and building interior maintenance. Familiarity with schematics, electrical equipment repair, HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and the use of hand tools and electrical testing devices like ohmmeters. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with maintenance painting, carpentry, welding, and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Ability to read technical schematics and understand electrical diagrams for effective repairs. Excellent communication skills in English to collaborate with team members and provide clear updates on maintenance activities. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Physical capability to perform manual tasks involving lifting, bending, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces as required for plumbing or HVAC repairs.
