Job Description

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for maintenance and repair of plant facilities and equipment to support production so that goals and quality standards can be met.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance. Support production by responding to calls for mechanical and electrical issues. Continually inspect the manufacturing area for mechanical, electrical issues. Install, replace, and repair pumps, valves, bearings, gauges, and other components. Check voltages and amps on electrical equipment. Knowledge and experience using basic shop equipment. Maintain the maintenance work area in a clean and orderly manner. Communicate with the Maintenance Supervisors, Production Supervisors, Maintenance Personnel, Quality Personnel, and Production Operators to resolve issues.
Required Skills/Abilities:
1-2 years manufacturing maintenance experience preferred Effective written and oral communication skills Ability to work under limited supervision Advanced technical training or applied experience with hydraulics, industrial electricity, electronics, and control systems preferred Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting. Computer and record keeping skills. Team player. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with minimal direction. Ability to work independently under stress and stringent deadlines. Ability to work flexible hours. Basic understanding of Quality Management System and Environmental Management System standards. Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is preferred Experience with Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices is preferred
Education and Experience:
At least two years related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in in variable room temperatures 10 F - 100 F, also wet conditions. Exposure to dust, fumes, and gases (required safety gear will be provided). Climbing ladders 6 feet up to 12 feet, working with arms extended over shoulder level.
