Job Description

General Statement of Duties The Heatherwoode Maintenance Mechanic inspects, analyzes, repairs and performs maintenance on all specialized golf maintenance equipment. The employee also orders parts and supplies, picks up and delivers and maintains records on parts and supplies and cleans and maintains Heatherwoode garage area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Cleans and maintains golf equipment, checks fluid levels, checks connectives, greases vehicles and performs minor vehicle repairs welding equipment, torches, gas & electrical welding, fabricate and build tools.
  • Employee must be able to change tires on various types of operating equipment, oil changes, and other routine maintenance.
  • Must be able to take instructions, and also be a good communicator with other staff members including the maintenance team, and the golf shop.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Employee should have knowledge of the methods, practices, tools and materials used in the golf equipment maintenance field. Must have the ability to communicate concisely and clearly with other City employees. Must have a knowledge of safety practices and procedures with the ability to carry out detailed but basic written and/or oral instruction and cooperate with co-workers on group projects. Must have ability to complete routine work forms. Must demonstrate physical dexterity and skill to safely operate hand held and power tools, light and heavy specialized equipment and safely repair and operate vehicles of many sizes. May be required to lift 30 lbs+/-, bend down, reach up, be on knees for extended period of time and be required to work outside in adverse weather conditions from time to time.
Acceptable Experience, Training and Additional Requirements :
Employee should have experience in the maintenance and repair of golf maintenance equipment; and/or any equivalent combination of education and experience. At a minimum, must possess a high school diploma or in the process of obtaining a certificate in automotive repair. (or equivalent). Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to the overall mission of the City and a cost conscious approach to assigned tasks. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio's Drivers license
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
