Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated senior living team as a Maintenance Technician and play a key role in creating a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for our residents. In this position, you will be responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building systems, resident apartments, and community equipment. The ideal candidate has hands-on maintenance experience, strong HVAC and mechanical knowledge, and a commitment to providing excellent service in a senior living environment. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, refrigeration units, appliances, plumbing, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment. Troubleshoot and repair maintenance issues in resident apartments, common areas, and facility systems. Diagnose equipment problems using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools. Repair or replace faulty components in HVAC/R systems, appliances, electrical fixtures, plumbing systems, and mechanical devices. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations. Assist with unit turns, renovations, and construction-related maintenance projects. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and senior living standards. Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors during major repairs or system upgrades. Maintain accurate records of repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, and inventory usage. Support a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and team members. Requirements Previous experience in maintenance, facility maintenance, apartment maintenance, or senior living maintenance required. Experience working in senior living, assisted living, nursing homes, healthcare facilities, or residential communities preferred. Strong background in HVAC/R systems, appliance repair, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and general mechanical maintenance. Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures and safety protocols. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently and independently. Excellent communication and customer service skills when interacting with residents and staff. Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and respond to urgent maintenance needs. Leadership experience or ability to assist and guide junior maintenance staff is a plus. EPA certification, HVAC certification, or other maintenance-related certifications preferred. Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull maintenance equipment and supplies as needed.
