Night Shift Facilities Maintenance Technician Position Summary Custom Glass Solutions is seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Night-Shift Facilities Maintenance Technician. This position is responsible for building upkeep, grounds maintenance, facility preventive maintenance, safety-equipment inspections, and light mechanical repair work. During winter weather, the employee must be willing to adjust their normal schedule to plow parking lots and clear entrances before employees arrive. This may include reporting early, staying late, or working additional hours as needed. Primary Responsibilities Change HVAC and ventilation filters Respond to basic restroom and plumbing issues, including clogged toilets and drains Install and refill soap, sanitizer, paper towel, and other wall-mounted dispensers Replace light bulbs, ballasts, fixtures, and other basic lighting components Perform preventive maintenance on powered floor scrubbers Inspect and replace floor-scrubber brushes, squeegees, filters, hoses, batteries, and other wear components Troubleshoot and repair basic floor-scrubber problems Rebuild and test pneumatic cylinders and valves. Inspect, test, clean, and document eyewash stations and emergency showers Perform documented preventive maintenance inspections on portable ladders Inspect and repair doors, hinges, locks, handles, and automatic closers Perform minor repairs to walls, ceilings, flooring, shelving, and facility hardware Complete routine inspections and preventive maintenance throughout the facility Mow grass, trim weeds, and perform general groundskeeping Plow parking lots and driveways during winter weather Shovel and salt sidewalks, entrances, and other walking areas Monitor weather conditions and adjust work hours when snow or ice is expected Maintain mowers, snowplows, salt spreaders, floor scrubbers, and other facility equipment Paint walls, curbs, walkways, parking spaces, and facility safety markings Assist with moving furniture, supplies, and facility equipment Document completed work, preventive maintenance, and inspection results Perform other facility and light mechanical maintenance duties as assigned Qualifications Must be available to work night shift Must have flexible availability during snow and ice events General mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools Experience performing basic pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder repairs is preferred Building-maintenance, groundskeeping, mechanical-repair, or related experience is preferred Basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical knowledge Ability to read and follow preventive-maintenance procedures and inspection checklists Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple assignments Dependable attendance and willingness to respond to changing facility needs Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to safely operate lawn mowers, snowplows, salt spreaders, floor scrubbers, and groundskeeping equipment Ability to safely use ladders and powered aerial lifts after receiving required training Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to climb, bend, kneel, and remain on your feet for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
