JOB TITLE

GENERAL PURPOSE
To assure the facility is in compliance with fire safety and Life Safety Code standards. To maintain the facility in good working condition and free from any hazards or risks to patient and employee safety and health. Manage and maintain ongoing Emergency Preparedness Program.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess carpentry, electrical, and plumbing skills Must be willing to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week Have the ability to understand and follow directions Must have initiative and good decision making abilities Must have willingness to perform routine tasks in a cheerful and courteous manner
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintain and repair facility, equipment, furniture, and structure Monitor and complete any necessary painting, plumbing, carpentry, or electrical work and other minor repairs Keep landscaping and outside patio areas neat and orderly, including weeding of any plants, flowers, or shrubs Conduct fire drills monthly Complete all maintenance requests Manage and Maintain ongoing Disaster/Emergency Preparedness Program Check heating system monthly during summer and daily when system is in use Complete all duties listed in the facilities preventative maintenance plan (i.e. auguring and emptying/cleaning grease trap) Complete daily duties listed on maintenance checklist form Coordinate, record, and participate in annual fire safety and sprinkler system inspections Conduct and record monthly inspections of smoke detectors, fire alarms, and fire extinguishers Conduct and record inspection and testing of facility generators Attend department head, quality assurance, and staff meetings, as well as any necessary in-services Update and tag all new and used electrical equipment owned by the facility and brought in by the resident/family members Assist in maintaining the department budget with the Purchasing Director Complete purchase orders Assist in removing and taking trash out when needed Pick up kitchen/dietary orders from store and deliver to facility Assist in dating, rotating and putting away food items while maintaining highest food safety practices
OTHER DUTIES
All other duties will be assigned by Administrator or Maintenance Manager as needed (i.e. cleaning out gutters, cleaning range hood to stove, and defrosting freezer, etc.)
Pay:
$14.00 - $15.00 per hour
