Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift Cheryl's Cookies | Westerville, OH Full-Time | Food Manufacturing /
Industrial Maintenance Pay:
$28.00 per hour Position Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting plant operations by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and completing timely repairs to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment. This role is critical to minimizing downtime, maximizing production efficiency, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity throughout the facility.

Shift:
Approximately 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM Duties & Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on industrial production and packaging equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation Inspect equipment, identify potential issues, and independently implement corrective actions to prevent equipment failures and minimize downtime Maintain and repair industrial bakery processing and packaging equipment, including: Mixers Wire-cut machines Ovens Metal detectors Conveyors Flow-wrap machines Motors Drives Other production machinery Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems Diagnose and troubleshoot: Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) Sensors Power supplies Pumps Motors Drives Control systems Other process-related equipment Troubleshoot industrial machinery and conveyor systems Read, analyze, and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, technical procedures, service manuals, equipment manuals, and work orders Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, voltage testers, and other electrical testing equipment Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, corrective actions, work orders, preventive maintenance activities, and equipment history using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Partner with Production, Quality Assurance, Operations, and Maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues quickly and safely Support preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, continuous improvement, and equipment reliability initiatives Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management Minimum Qualifications Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic systems Associate degree or technical/trade school training in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, or a related field preferred Trade school graduates and current students with relevant hands-on industrial maintenance experience are encouraged to apply Required Skills & Experience Mechanical & Equipment Maintenance Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems Experience troubleshooting industrial machinery and conveyor systems Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills Electrical & Industrial Controls Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems Strong knowledge of 480V three-phase electrical systems Working knowledge of 24V-240V single-phase and low-voltage electrical systems Proficiency using multimeters, voltage testers, and other electrical diagnostic equipment Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and technical drawings PLCs & Automation Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and diagnose PLCs, VFDs, and industrial control systems, including experience or working knowledge of platforms such as: Allen-Bradley Siemens Honeywell Schneider Electric Other commonly used industrial platforms Pneumatic & Hydraulic Systems Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems Documentation & CMMS Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Ability to accurately document work orders, repairs, inspections, preventive maintenance activities, corrective actions, and equipment history Additional Requirements Strong troubleshooting mindset with the ability to work independently and make sound maintenance decisions Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, continuous improvement, and teamwork Must be able to read, write, and speak English Preferred Qualifications Experience in food manufacturing, bakery production, food processing, or other high-speed production environments Knowledge of preventive maintenance and reliability-centered maintenance programs Experience with automation equipment and industrial controls Light fabrication, cutting, and welding experience Technical school, trade school, or multicraft maintenance program background Safety & Food Manufacturing Requirements This position supports an active food manufacturing and bakery production facility. Strict adherence to workplace safety, food safety, sanitation, and quality standards is required. Maintenance Technicians must follow all applicable safety and regulatory requirements, including: Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements OSHA requirements Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Confined-space entry procedures Chemical-handling procedures Fall-protection requirements Other applicable facility and food-production safety standards Work Environment Fast-paced food manufacturing environment supporting high-volume production Requires standing and walking for extended periods Requires lifting and bending as part of maintenance activities Requires hands-on work around industrial machinery and production equipment Exposure to moving mechanical parts Exposure to electrical systems and industrial controls Strict adherence to safety and food-production standards required Why Join Us?
