Job Description

Vector Technical has partnered with a world leader in structural investment castings, forged components and airfoil castings manufacturing high-quality casting for engine and industrial gas turbines. They are hiring candidates for Maintenance Utility Technician in Wickliffe, OH. This Client offers overtime and bonus availability when hired in. 3rd Shift OWW Schedule 7p-7a - $18/hr. + $3 shift diff = $21/hr.
Job Summary:
The Utility Operator will participate in all aspects of cleaning, maintaining, and improvement initiatives of shop the floor areas.
Plant Cleaning & Operations Responsibilities:
Maintain shop floor cleanliness. Sweep, mop, wax floors. Dust and wash common surfaces (i.e., walls, duct work, furniture, etc.) Keep clutter from the work areas. Empty waste containers and dust collectors. Clean and stock restrooms. Ability to work flexible hours and over time when required. Perform other tasks as directed by supervisor.
Maintenance Responsibilities:
Construct shop aids (i.e., cutting wedges, boxes, trays, etc.) in support of 6S initiatives. Apply label's, paint, and tape to flooring, shop aides, and other equipment to assist in the organization of department during 6S activities. Actively interface with department personnel regarding continuous improvement efforts including cost saving and safety improvements. Assist in the design of various fixtures, shop aides and tables as requested. Installation and maintenance of floor coatings. Basic welding, cutting, and grinding tasks as assigned. Must comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies and procedures while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment. Must participate in required training, medical monitoring, safety and health evaluations and programs.
Requirements:
Prefer previous janitorial experience. Ability to read, follow, and interpret instructions. Ability to work independently. Must be able to physically perform essential job functions. Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate activities with others. Must possess organizational skills to organize information and materials and attend to details. Ability to work in working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, and other elements for extended periods of time.
