A Building and General Maintenance Technician performs building maintenance and appliance repairs for an apartment complex, housing division, residential center or business, as directed by a property manager.
$35.00 - $42.00/hour (DOE) Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Mechanic to join our 2nd shift maintenance team. This role is responsible for maintaining production machinery, material handling equipment, and facility systems to ensure maximum equipment reliability and production uptime. We're looking for a self-starter with strong troubleshooting abilities who can work independently with minimal supervision. You'll play a key role in performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing equipment failures, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on production machinery and facility equipment. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems . Diagnose electrical faults involving motors, sensors, wiring, circuits, and control systems . Maintain conveyors, packaging machinery, material handling equipment, pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, chain drives, and other automated production equipment . Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment (preferred). Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals . Use diagnostic equipment including multimeters and ohmmeters to identify and resolve equipment issues. Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately. Work independently while supporting production to minimise downtime and maximise equipment reliability. Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised work environment. Qualifications 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Experience working on conveyors, packaging equipment, motors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, sensors, and automated production equipment . PLC troubleshooting experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings. Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and solve problems with minimal supervision.
