Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic facilities team as a General Maintenance Technician and become the backbone of our building operations! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the smooth functioning of a wide range of building systems and equipment. Your expertise will help create a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for all occupants and visitors. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills in a fast-paced setting where proactive maintenance makes a real difference. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, and building interior components to ensure optimal operation. Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues using schematics, electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters, and electrical equipment repair techniques. Conduct welding, carpentry, painting (including maintenance painting and residential painting), and other hands-on repairs to facilities infrastructure. Maintain facility equipment including HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, mechanical systems, and other building amenities through scheduled servicing and emergency repairs. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures to accurately diagnose problems and execute repairs efficiently. Use hand tools and power tools safely to complete maintenance tasks while adhering to safety protocols. Support leadership in managing maintenance operations by documenting work orders, completing shift reports, and maintaining accurate records of repairs performed. Assist with building interior maintenance projects to enhance the appearance and functionality of the facility. Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or tenants and communicating clearly about repair status. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance or related field with a strong mechanical knowledge base. Skilled in electrical work including troubleshooting electrical issues with schematics, electrical equipment repair, and using testing tools like ohmmeters. Hands-on experience with plumbing system maintenance and repair as well as HVAC system repair or servicing. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, carpentry tools, and maintenance painting techniques. Ability to read technical schematics and mechanical diagrams accurately. Knowledge of facilities equipment maintenance including building interior systems and MRO (maintenance, repair & operations) procedures. Strong communication skills in English for effective team collaboration and customer interaction.
