Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented LED Wiring Technician to join our sign manufacturing team. This position is responsible for installing, wiring, and testing LED lighting systems and electrical components used in illuminated commercial signage. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with low-voltage electrical components, and able to follow drawings, wiring diagrams, and production specifications while maintaining high standards for quality and safety. Key Responsibilities Install and wire LED modules, power supplies, raceways, disconnect switches, and other electrical components used in illuminated signage. Wire channel letters, sign cabinets, pylon signs, monument signs, and other internally illuminated signs. Properly lay out and install LED modules to provide consistent and even illumination. Connect LED modules to appropriate power supplies according to manufacturer specifications. Route, secure, and organize low-voltage wiring inside signs and letter sets. Make proper electrical connections using approved connectors, terminals, and wiring methods. Install and connect power supplies and other electrical components according to production drawings. Read and interpret shop drawings, wiring diagrams, electrical layouts, and job specifications. Test completed signs and electrical assemblies to verify proper operation before they leave production. Troubleshoot LED modules, power supplies, wiring connections, and other electrical issues. Verify correct voltage, polarity, and electrical connections using appropriate testing equipment. Identify defective components and make necessary repairs or replacements. Work closely with fabrication, channel letter, assembly, paint, and final production departments. Maintain organized inventory of LED modules, power supplies, wire, connectors, and electrical supplies. Maintain a clean and organized electrical work area. Follow company safety procedures and applicable electrical and sign-manufacturing standards. Assist with other production and assembly responsibilities as needed. Qualifications Previous experience with LED wiring, electrical assembly, sign manufacturing, or low-voltage electrical systems preferred. Sign industry experience is a plus but not required for candidates with strong mechanical or electrical aptitude. Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and production drawings. Ability to use electrical testing equipment such as a multimeter. Understanding of basic DC electrical concepts including voltage, amperage, polarity, and power requirements. Ability to use hand and power tools safely. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical and LED lighting problems. Good organizational and communication skills. Dependable attendance and ability to work efficiently within production schedules. Preferred Experience Experience with any of the following is beneficial: LED sign modules LED power supplies/drivers Channel letter wiring Illuminated sign cabinets Pylon and monument signs Low-voltage wiring Electrical testing and troubleshooting Sign manufacturing UL-listed sign production and UL 48 requirements Reading electrical and production drawings Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and work around large sign components. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
