Maintenance Technician

Position Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the overall condition, functionality, safety, and appearance of the hotel. This position plays a critical role in ensuring guest satisfaction by promptly addressing maintenance issues, completing preventative maintenance tasks, and ensuring the property remains brand-standard and QA-ready at all times. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling a variety of maintenance and repair tasks in a hospitality environment. Essential Job ResponsibilitiesPreventative Maintenance Complete daily and weekly preventative maintenance (PM) tasks as assigned Maintain accurate PM logs and maintenance records Perform routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, exterior grounds, and back-of-house spaces Ensure all guest room items are functioning properly including: HVAC units Plumbing fixtures TVs Lighting Headboard lights Locks and door hardware Appliances General Repairs Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical issues Replace light fixtures, ceiling tiles, filters, batteries, and minor equipment components Address cosmetic repairs including painting, caulking, patchwork, and touch-ups Ensure all alarm clocks, electronics, and guest room equipment meet brand standards Safety & Compliance Maintain hotel safety standards and comply with OSHA regulations Ensure emergency equipment and systems are operational Assist with fire alarm testing, inspections, and emergency procedures Report safety hazards immediately to management Maintain proper storage and labeling of chemicals and tools Grounds & Property Appearance Maintain cleanliness and appearance of: Parking lots Sidewalks Landscaping Exterior entrances Trash areas Assist with snow removal and salting during winter conditions Ensure outdoor lighting is operational QA & Brand Standards Assist the management team in maintaining Hilton brand standards Help ensure the property is QA-ready daily Correct deficiencies identified during inspections or walkthroughs promptly Support guest satisfaction initiatives through timely repairs and upkeep Teamwork & Communication Communicate maintenance updates and ongoing projects to management daily Work closely with housekeeping and front desk teams regarding out-of-order rooms and repair priorities Maintain professionalism and positive communication with guests and team members Assist other departments as needed Qualifications Previous hotel maintenance experience preferred Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance repairs Ability to use maintenance tools and equipment safely Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed Expectations Maintain a professional appearance and uniform at all times Respond to maintenance concerns in a timely manner Keep maintenance areas organized and clean Maintain confidentiality regarding hotel operations and guest information Support a positive and team-oriented work environment
