Job Description
A growing industrial manufacturer is seeking a hands-on maintenance professional for its overnight team at a high-output production site in eastern Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving equipment issues in real time, working across both electrical and mechanical systems, and building broader skills in automation, troubleshooting, and plant reliability. What You Will Do Support safe, reliable production by troubleshooting and repairing plant equipment during the night shift Diagnose issues involving motors, drives, control panels, sensors, relays, and PLC-controlled systems Perform mechanical maintenance on hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, gearboxes, and related production assets Complete preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and equipment changeovers to reduce downtime Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and equipment documentation Help identify root causes of recurring failures and contribute to practical reliability improvements Use maintenance systems and standard documentation tools to record work performed, equipment status, and parts usage Maintain compliance with lockout tagout procedures, plant safety rules, and OSHA-focused practices Coordinate with operations and maintenance teammates to prioritize repairs and keep production moving Assist with fabrication, fitting, and installation of replacement parts or components when needed Operate in a fast-paced industrial setting with a strong focus on housekeeping, safe work habits, and quality output What You Bring Experience in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing or heavy production environment Multi-craft ability across electrical and mechanical troubleshooting Working knowledge of three-phase power, industrial controls, and PLC diagnostics Ability to troubleshoot production equipment quickly and make sound repair decisions under pressure Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, motors, and related plant systems Comfort reading schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings Strong safety mindset and a disciplined approach to repair procedures Clear communication skills and a team-first attitude High school diploma or equivalent required, with technical training, apprenticeship experience, military experience, or journeyman-level development viewed favorably Why Candidates Are Interested Opportunity to expand skills across electrical, mechanical, and automation systems Exposure to advanced manufacturing technology, including PLC-driven equipment and automated lines Stable overnight schedule with consistent hours and overtime potential Long-term career path for technicians who want to grow their troubleshooting depth and plant impact Supportive team environment where skilled maintenance professionals can make a visible difference Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, and work around industrial equipment safely
