FLSA Status:
Non Exempt $21.40 to $22.40 per hour, plus overtime.
Primary Purpose:
Repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical equipment, and plant facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Performs routine equipment inspections. 2. Performs routine preventative maintenance. 3. Responds quickly to equipment downtime by analyzing and identifying the problem. 4. Performs complex non-routine and emergency repairs. 5. Understands and follows all applicable safety policies, USDA requirements, GMPs, and industry standards. 6. Keeps organized documentation of work tasks. 7. Since this is a relatively specialized position and very few people can perform the tasks required for this position, regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this department.

Non-essential duties and responsibilities may be assigned to achieve the primary purpose or other purposes as determined by the company.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Advanced understanding of power tools, hand tools, and standard measurements. 2. Speaks and understands English. 3. 1 year college/tech school cert or 1 year experience or training with mechanical aptitude and 2 years experience of electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, TIG welding or millwright.
Physical Demands:

Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. 2. Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. 3. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 4. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. 5. Must be able to use vision or hearing help diagnose mechanical problems.
Work Environment:
  • 1.
Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. 2. Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration. 3. Regularly exposed to a noise level in the work environment that is loud.
