POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dependable and motivated College Student General Maintenance Technician to assist with residential and commercial property maintenance assignments throughout the Oklahoma City metro area. This is a flexible contract opportunity designed around students who want to choose available maintenance assignments that fit their schedule. You will be paid hourly for the time worked on each accepted assignment, according to the applicable agreement and pay terms. You may have the opportunity to work on a variety of property maintenance and repair projects, gain hands-on experience, and develop skills in different areas of the property services industry. Previous professional maintenance experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person who has a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic.

HOW THE POSITION WORKS

This is a flexible contract opportunity with no traditional fixed weekly schedule. Available assignments may be offered based on business demand, and you can indicate which assignments fit your availability and experience. You may have the opportunity to: Choose assignments that work around your class schedule Pick up additional work when you have more availability Take fewer assignments during exams or busy school weeks Work more during summer or school breaks Gain experience across different types of property maintenance Build professional skills while earning income For example: You have class Monday morning, so you do not accept a Monday morning assignment. You have an exam Wednesday, so you keep Wednesday available for studying. You have Thursday afternoon free, so you accept a maintenance assignment. You have more availability during summer break, so you can choose to take on additional work when available. Your school schedule can change from week to week and semester to semester. We understand that.

IMPORTANT

Flexible does not mean unreliable. Once you accept an assignment, you are expected to complete the work as agreed and communicate promptly if an unexpected issue occurs.

HOURLY PAY FOR MAINTENANCE WORK

Maintenance Technicians are compensated hourly for time worked on accepted assignments. The applicable hourly rate and payment terms will be explained before you begin working and in the applicable agreement. Assignments may vary in length depending on the scope of work, property condition, and type of maintenance required. You may be able to work on assignments such as: Minor repairs Property maintenance Drywall patching Painting touch-ups Door and hardware repairs Cabinet repairs Fixture replacement Basic plumbing-related maintenance Basic electrical-related maintenance within your training and authorization General handyman work Property turnover repairs Other assigned maintenance tasks The type of work assigned will depend on your experience, qualifications, training, and the scope of the assignment. We do not expect every technician to know how to do everything. We are looking for people who are willing to learn, work safely, and take pride in completing quality work.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Maintenance Technicians may assist with a variety of property maintenance and repair services throughout the Oklahoma City metro area.

Typical assignments may include:

General Property Maintenance Perform general maintenance tasks at residential and commercial properties Assist with property turnover and make-ready work Inspect assigned areas for visible maintenance concerns Identify and report property damage or repair needs Complete assigned maintenance tasks according to the applicable scope of work Keep work areas clean and organized Properly use and maintain tools and equipment Communicate job-site issues to management Take required before-and-after photos Document completed work and any additional concerns Repairs and Handyman Services Depending on experience, training, and authorization, assignments may include: Drywall patching and minor drywall repairs Painting touch-ups Interior painting assistance Door adjustments and minor repairs Replacing door hardware Cabinet and drawer repairs Replacing blinds and other basic fixtures Installing or replacing hardware Minor caulking and sealing Basic property repairs Furniture assembly General handyman tasks Other reasonable maintenance assignments within your qualifications Property Turnover Support Assist with make-ready repairs between residents Prepare properties for new residents Complete assigned punch-list items Report unfinished or additional work requirements Coordinate with other technicians when needed Maintain professional conduct at client properties All assignments will be based on your experience, qualifications, and the work you are authorized and trained to perform.

IMPORTANT SAFETY AND SCOPE EXPECTATIONS

We want our technicians to gain experience and develop their skills, but safety comes first. You will not be expected to perform work beyond your training, qualifications, or authorization. You must communicate with management before performing unfamiliar, unsafe, or potentially hazardous work. Certain specialized, licensed, or regulated work may be excluded from this position or require appropriately qualified personnel. You should never attempt work involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, or other specialized systems beyond your training and authorization.

During summer break, you can increase your availability and potentially take on additional assignments. When your next semester starts, your availability can change again. We want work to fit around your education and personal schedule.

NO FIXED WEEKLY SCHEDULE

This opportunity is not designed around a traditional Monday-Friday schedule. You are not expected to work the same shifts every week. Your availability may change from week to week.

Assignments may be available throughout the Oklahoma City metropolitan area, including: Oklahoma City Edmond Moore Norman Del City Midwest City Choctaw Yukon Mustang Bethany Warr Acres The Village Piedmont Other surrounding Oklahoma City metro communities Applicants will have the opportunity to indicate which areas they are comfortable traveling to. Reliable transportation is important because assignments may take place at different properties throughout the metro area.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must: Be at least 18 years old Have reliable transportation Have a valid driver's license Be authorized to work in the United States Be able to successfully complete a background check Be able to travel to assigned properties Be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, reach, and climb stairs Be comfortable performing physical work for extended periods Have a smartphone capable of receiving messages and submitting job photos Have reliable communication Be able to honor commitments after accepting assignments Be willing to follow company safety and maintenance procedures Be willing to learn new skills Be able to follow written and verbal instructions

Training will be provided on Rent Ready Solutions' applicable maintenance procedures, job-site expectations, documentation requirements, and quality standards.

Repeated cancellations, no-shows, failure to communicate, or incomplete work may affect your eligibility for future assignments. We understand that emergencies happen. If something unexpected prevents you from completing an assignment, communication as soon as possible is expected.
