Grounds Maintenance Technician Role Purpose / Mission Maintain and enhance the safety, appearance, and functionality of Webco facilities through skilled groundskeeping, maintenance, and support construction activities. Ensure all areas are well-maintained, equipment is operational, and building systems are in good condition to support productive operations. Key Responsibilities Maintain grounds in excellent condition to ensure safe and productive use of all facilities, including mowing, edging, tractor operation, snow and tree removal, weed control, and irrigation. Troubleshoot and repair building- and grounds-related issues; assist with construction and facility improvement projects as needed. Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and general upkeep of grounds and maintenance equipment. Inspect buildings and facilities to identify damage or safety concerns and take corrective action to maintain safe, functional workspaces. Maintain serviceability and appearance of company vehicles, including fueling, washing, and basic upkeep. Perform vehicle maintenance tasks in a consistent, efficient, and safe manner. Perform other duties as assigned to support overall facility maintenance and safety. Required & Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical college or vocational training preferred. Proficiency in general construction trades and grounds maintenance. Ability to read and speak English preferred. High school-level mathematical skills. Previous mechanical or facilities maintenance experience preferred. Strong motivation and self-driven work ethic. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record. Typical Physical Demands Work a minimum of 8 hours per day; additional hours as needed.
Full range of body motion:
lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, stooping, squatting. Frequent walking/standing on concrete floors while wearing steel-toed shoes; may walk up to 2-5 miles per shift. Corrected vision and hearing within normal range. Unassisted lifting of objects weighing 5-50 lbs (average 34-37 lbs). Hand movements requiring turning, twisting, gripping, and manipulating tools. Work under production pressures and emergency situations as needed. Typical Working Conditions Manufacturing and outdoor facility areas. Approximately 80% or more of work time is spent outdoors with regular exposure to weather and environmental conditions. Regular exposure to loud, prolonged noise. Exposure to hot temperatures (95º-110º F in summer) and cold temperatures based on outside conditions. Mandatory use of PPE in manufacturing areas, including safety glasses with side shields, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection. .Benefits
