Job Description

Position Overview:
Solida Labs, Inc., is looking for a qualified Maintenance Technician to join our team at a rapidly expanding processing and manufacturing facility in Eugene, Oregon. Our core business model is processing hemp biomass into forms that are ready for use in manufacturing (distillate and isolate).
Maintenance and Repair:
Perform regular, preventive service to equipment such as boilers, evaporators, pumps, condensers, switches, valves, cooling towers, etc. Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting. Low and high voltage common in factory settings and electrical classifications. Understand '24/7 production schedule'—work with the director of engineering to deploy planned downtime-maintenance in a manner that is safe, productive, and undisruptive as possible Maintain 'critical spare parts inventory' to limit/eliminate production downtime Maintain an accurate log of all inventory within the maintenance department - at the direction of the maintenance manager Ability to read and understand OEM manuals and SOP's in order to recommend repairs and system run parameters on a variety of manufacturing equipment. Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) with company engineers, managers, and operators of each area. Understand the 'management of change program' and pre-post start-up on new installs. Monitor all hot work and confined space entry procedures and activities. Verify work is done in a safe manner inside and outside all covered processes. Keep all equipment in good working order before and after work is done. Make SOP update recommendations.
Administrative:
Coordinate with engineering and operation to create SOP's. Establish/maintain productive relationships with utilities, parts, and service vendors. Continually communicate needs, expenses, anticipated production disruptions, etc., to the maintenance manager.
Safety:
Maintain/test integrated fire and security system as necessary Regularly perform safety audits; prioritize and respond to all concerns Follow directions for safety protocols
Position Requirements:
Experience and Competencies:
2+ years Maintenance experience Demonstrated knowledge of boiler diagnostics/maintenance Ability to plumb and sweat copper pipes Welding knowledge/application strongly preferred Understanding of environmental hazards management/planning and remediation Demonstrated verbal and written communication, English literacy (multilingual applicants encouraged to apply) Working knowledge/application of MS Word/Excel Adaptability Stress tolerance Forklift certification Must have valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle (Company reimburses mileage at a rate that meets or exceeds government requirements)
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, work in splayed positions, and carry materials up to 100 pounds daily Ability to climb ladders Ability to work for long period outdoors in temperature/precipitation extremes typical of Oregon's climate Absence of pulmonary, cardiovascular, psychological, and anatomic conditions that would interfere with the ability to wear a respirator Ability to wear protective equipment on the head, face, hands, and feet in accordance with safety requirements Ability to work in varying noise levels, and to wear hearing protection as required Ability to travel intra-city by vehicle daily This document describes the general nature and level of work performed by personnel assigned to this job classification. Compensation:
$22/hr +
DOE:
We offer full benefits on the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment for full-time employees.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday with opportunity for overtime pay on most weekends.
Day shift:
7:30am - 4:00pm
