We manage single-family homes, townhomes, and apartment communities throughout the Portland area, and we're looking for someone who is comfortable handling a wide variety of everyday residential maintenance and repair work. This is a hands-on position, so we're looking for someone who enjoys troubleshooting problems, working independently, and taking pride in getting a job done correctly. What we're looking for: We'd prefer someone with 2-3 years of general handyman or residential maintenance experience . Formal certifications are not required. What matters most to us is practical experience, reliability, good judgment, and being comfortable working inside occupied and vacant rental homes. You should be comfortable with tasks such as: Basic plumbing repairs, including faucets, P-traps, garbage disposals, toilet tank components, shower diverters, and minor drain clogs Installing/replacing dishwashers and performing basic appliance troubleshooting and repair Drywall repair, patching, mudding, texturing, and painting Replacing doors, door jambs, locks, handles, and other hardware Installing blinds and completing other basic interior repairs Replacing light fixtures, ceiling fans, switches, and outlets Replacing furnace filters and performing basic furnace/fireplace pilot-light tasks Fence, gate, and wood deck repairs Gutter cleaning and pressure washing Basic tile and grout work Replacing glass panes in windows or doors Installing smoke and CO detectors Light landscaping, leaf cleanup, weed-and-feed application, and walkway cleanup Graffiti removal Winterization and applying de-icer during inclement weather Identifying water leaks, reading water meters, and shutting water off when necessary General turnover and miscellaneous handyman repairs as needed We don't expect every candidate to be an expert at every single item on this list. We're looking for someone with a solid general maintenance background who can handle most common residential repairs and is willing to learn the rest. What you'll need This position requires traveling between properties throughout the Portland area and entering single-family homes, townhomes, and apartments , including occupied units. You must have a reliable vehicle and valid driver's license and be comfortable using your vehicle to travel between properties. Mileage is reimbursed in addition to your hourly wage. You should also be comfortable communicating professionally with residents, vendors, and our property-management team. Because you'll often be working independently in residents' homes, reliability, professionalism, and respect for people's property are extremely important to us. Pay & Schedule Starting wage: $25/hour, based on experience This is a full-time, in-person position , and we are looking to hire immediately .
