What You'll Do As a Pool Construction Technician, you will work alongside our construction team on active residential and commercial projects while learning the different phases of pool and aquatic construction. Depending on the project and your experience, responsibilities may include: Loading, unloading, staging, and organizing tools, equipment, and materials Assisting with excavation, plumbing, concrete, equipment installation, and general construction activities Supporting Superintendents, Crew Leads, and other team members with daily project tasks Operating hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment as trained and authorized Maintaining clean, organized, and safe jobsites Keeping company trucks, tools, and equipment organized and properly maintained Assisting with material pickups, deliveries, and jobsite logistics Learning to read plans, layouts, equipment information, and project documentation Completing required project documentation, photos, and daily reporting when assigned Identifying problems or concerns and communicating them before they become bigger issues Learning APW construction methods, safety procedures, and quality standards Representing Anderson Poolworks professionally with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and other trade partners As your experience grows, so will your responsibilities. Communication Is Part of the Job Good construction requires good communication. We expect our team members to communicate with each other and not simply assume someone else knows what is happening.

Ask questions when instructions or expectations are unclear Communicate problems, delays, damage, mistakes, or unexpected conditions when they happen Keep Crew Leads and Superintendents informed of jobsite conditions Speak up when materials, tools, equipment, or information are needed to complete the work Communicate professionally with customers and other trades Participate in project handoffs and jobsite discussions when appropriate Follow through when they say they are going to do something Finding a problem and saying nothing about it is not acceptable. We would rather address an issue early than discover it later because someone assumed another person would handle it. You do need to be willing to learn. Work Environment This is active construction work performed primarily outdoors year-round. Team members should expect physically demanding work that may include lifting, carrying, digging, climbing, kneeling, loading materials, operating equipment, working around active construction sites, and working in changing weather conditions. Some days are harder than others. Some tasks are repetitive. Jobsites are not always close to the shop, and schedules may occasionally change based on project needs, weather, inspections, concrete schedules, or coordination with other trades. This position is best suited for someone who enjoys staying busy, working with their hands, solving problems, and being able to see what they accomplished at the end of the day. Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) Follow company and jobsite safety requirements Use tools and equipment only as trained and intended Maintain clean and safe work areas Report unsafe conditions immediately Ask questions before performing work they have not been trained to perform Look out for themselves and the people working around them Quality work does not come at the expense of safety. Requirements Valid driver's license preferred Reliable transportation to and from work Ability to regularly lift and carry 50+ lbs. Ability to perform physically demanding construction work Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively Willingness to learn new skills and construction methods Reliable attendance and punctuality Construction, landscaping, excavation, concrete, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, or other trade experience is a plus but not required Our construction teams typically start early.
