Job Description

I & E Construction is a fast-growing, family-owned, full-service general contractor seeking an experienced Small Projects and Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role serves as the central point of accountability for performing hands-on repair, installation, and maintenance work across multiple construction disciplines. At I & E, our people come first. BASIC FUNCTIONS
The Experienced Small Projects & Maintenance Technician performs hands-on repair, installation, and maintenance work across multiple construction disciplines. This position supports siding repairs, dry rot and framing repairs, window and door installation, fencing, decks, railings, minor roofing repairs, drywall, inspections, consultations, and investigative openings. The technician operates with minimal supervision and represents I & E Construction professionally while working directly with customers and property stakeholders.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Carpentry & Construction Work Perform rough and finish carpentry including framing, blocking, trim work, doors, hardware, cabinetry, and wood repairs. Build, install, and repair walls, ceilings, flooring systems, and other building components. Install and repair doors, windows, siding, fencing, decking, and exterior trim. Complete drywall installation, patching, texturing, and finishing. Perform minor demolition and reconstruction work as needed. Painting & Finishes Prepare surfaces through sanding, scraping, patching, masking, and priming. Apply paint, stain, sealers, and specialty coatings to interior and exterior surfaces. Perform touch-up work and final finish repairs to maintain a high-quality appearance. Match existing finishes and colors when required. Maintenance & Service Work Respond to service requests and maintenance work orders. Perform general building repairs and preventative maintenance. Troubleshoot and repair common issues involving doors, windows, trim, drywall, and building finishes. Complete punch-list items and warranty repairs efficiently. Safety & Jobsite Standards Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and other equipment. Follow all company policies, OSHA regulations, and jobsite safety requirements. Protect client property and maintain a strong customer-service mindset while working in occupied spaces. Team Collaboration Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Supervisors, subcontractors, and clients. Assist with project planning, material identification, and field problem solving. Support other trades and team members as needed to ensure successful project completion.
Education/qualifications:
5+ years of carpentry experience in commercial construction, maintenance, renovation, or service work. Strong painting experience including preparation, finish work, and coating applications. Experience with drywall installation and repair. Ability to read blueprints, sketches, scopes of work, and work orders. Proficiency with hand and power tools. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
