THIS IS A SECOND SHIFT POSITION

Job Summary:

In this role, the Maintenance Mechanic repairs mechanical equipment, troubleshoots equipment malfunctions, performs PM tasks, and dissembles components for inspection and repair. As well as troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and making appropriate adjustments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnose all mechanical type problems/malfunctions and when necessary, simple electrical malfunctions.
• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on all types of mechanical equipment.
• Installs mechanical equipment (position, level, anchor, and square to adjacent equipment).
• Installs pipes for air, hydraulics, pneumatics, vacuum, and product.
• Fabricates items using basic shop tools (grinder, band saw, drill press, welder).
• Works from drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Follows lock out/tag out procedures as required.
• Observes newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions, adjusting when and where required, also checking for proper guarding.
• Assist Technicians when required for the installation of panels, wire way supports, conduit supports, and foundation requirements.
• Works overtime as required.
• Participates with others in team related projects and activities.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Two years' experience working as a mechanic in an industrial environment.
• Must have a valid PA driver's license.
• Computer literate.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Skilled in pipe fittings, basic machinist skills, understanding of metals and welding procedures, use of hand tools (related to the industrial mechanic field), acetylene torches, welding machines, pullers, threading machines, etc.
• Working knowledge of both the

NEC, NFPA

codes.

• Trained (or equivalent experience) in hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic industrial electricity
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Able to always comply with the company's safety and quality policies.

Travel Requirements:

• Must be able to travel between North and South campuses.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel common tools used in the mechanical trades and climb or balance
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions, inside and outside.
• The employee frequently is required to walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and to talk and hear; and to work off platforms, lifts, and ladders.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Mental Requirements:

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Pay:

$24.05 - $31.30 per hour
