Job Description
Summit Gardens Apartments located in Carbondale, PA is seeking a full-time (35 hours per week) maintenance technician to join our team!
BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for the maintenance of property including grounds and fixtures. Effective in resident relations and resolution, and all duties outlined below:MUST HAVE
- Must be skilled in drywall repair and painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical.
- Participate in a shared, on-call emergency schedule for evening, weekend and holiday coverage, as well as, needed snow removal.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate effectively and professionally with all property staff and residents.
- Monitor building and grounds to ensure a neat and clean presentation of the environment.
- Perform work order requests and tracking for needed follow-up.
- Complete minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, carpentry and other related maintenance activities using hand tools.
- Assist Maintenance Superintendent with maintaining stock control and material utilization.
- Complete ground maintenance duties as given by superintendent.
- Remove trash and dispose of in designated areas.
- Emergency on-call duties as required or assigned.
- Refurbish vacant apartments quickly, efficiently and to high standards to prepare for new tenants. (paint, clean, remove trash, repair apartments for turnover at move-out in a timely manner.)
- Perform and/or schedule maintenance of property equipment.
- Systematically and routinely inspect all community lighting, exit and fire doors as needed.
- Move trash dumpsters from compactor areas in all four buildings at least 3 times per week.
- Keep a direct line of communication with the property manager and maintenance superintendent as to general maintenance, repairs, replacements, services, supplies, vendors, etc. on the site.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Property Manager and/or Superintendent.
