We specialize in the design and construction of high precision plastic and metal injection molds and the molding of tight tolerance plastic injection molded components. We operate in a modern, state of the art facility and employ technical staff members capable of offering solutions to our customer's toughest tooling and molding challenges. We are seeking an experienced 1st Shift Maintenance Technician to train and assist with the coordination of PM tasks and unscheduled repair activities associated with the production & support equipment in our molding and tooling operation. Primary duties of the position include: (a) Coordinating scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on production & support equipment (molding machines, thermolators, cooling towers, surface grinders, EDM machines, etc.). (b) Completing troubleshooting / problem solving activities related to malfunctioning machinery & support equipment. (c) Coordinating unscheduled equipment maintenance / repair activities on machinery & related support equipment to minimize downtime, including working with OEM technical staff and local vendors as needed to get equipment back on-line. (d) Coordinating internal facility-related PM on assigned building infrastructure and equipment / systems (lighting, compressed air, HVAC, etc.). (e) Completing routine external facility-related maintenance tasks as needed throughout the year (shoveling / snow blowing walkways; coordinating external mowing/landscaping contractor(s); changing security / parking lot lights; etc.). (f) Assisting with the installation of new production and support equipment, including interfacing with OEM technical staff and local support vendors (electricians, automation technicians, etc.) to coordinate installation and debug tasks. (g) Maintaining a basic inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment spare parts as needed to ensure timely and cost-effective facility and equipment maintenance / repairs.
Preferred qualifications include:
1. At least 2 - 4 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting (Injection Molding environment preferred) or a Technical Associates Degree with 1 year of hands-on experience related to facilities &equipment maintenance. 2. Mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting & repairing production machinery & support equipment. 3. Practical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic principles related to equipment commonly used in an injection molding / manufacturing environment. 4. Ability to read schematics / wiring diagrams and prints to troubleshoot & understand equipment operation. 5. Practical experience safely using the following: forklift; hand tools; power tools; and specialized equipment like saws, sand blasters or portable welders. 6. Ability to cooperate with others and work as a member of a team. 7. Independent work habits with a focus on safety, cleanliness & attention to detail. 8. Basic computer literacy and skills.
